Farmers Mapping | A Study in Tapi, Gujarat

This study maps the socio-economic realities, agricultural practices, and livelihood challenges of women farmers in Gujarat’s Tapi district, where the Megha Adivasi Mahila Agriculture Producers’ Cooperative works with indigenous women farmers.

Combining district-level analysis with field surveys across villages, the report examines landholdings, cropping patterns, irrigation, market access, migration, infrastructure, and women’s participation in agriculture.

Developed through extensive field research led by cooperative members themselves, the study offers critical insights into the opportunities and constraints shaping rural livelihoods, while identifying pathways for strengthening women-led agricultural enterprises and local economic resilience.
