Sahakarita Vol. 1 | Our Newsletter

Sahakarita Volume 1 explores the growing impact of climate change on informal women workers and the role of women-led collective enterprises in building resilience. Through conversations with environmental thinker Vandana Shiva, stories from women farmers and artisans, and reflections from SEWA’s archives, the edition examines how rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns, and environmental uncertainty affect livelihoods across sectors. It highlights grassroots responses ranging from sustainable agriculture and local food systems to collective enterprise models that strengthen economic security and community resilience.

By placing women’s experiences at the centre of climate discussions, the volume argues that those most affected by environmental change must also play a leading role in shaping solutions for a more equitable and sustainable future.
