Sahakarita Volume 9 examines the opportunities and challenges that digital technologies present for women in the informal economy. Through conversations with practitioners, cooperative leaders, researchers, and women workers themselves, the edition explores the gender digital divide, digital financial inclusion, data governance, and technology-enabled livelihoods. Drawing on experiences from women farmers’ cooperatives, digital literacy initiatives, and the e-Kheti programme, it highlights how cooperatives can act as bridges between grassroots women and emerging digital systems. The volume also reflects on the care economy, showcases the legacy of Video SEWA as a tool for communication and empowerment, and argues for a more inclusive digital future that is shaped by the realities of informal women workers.
