Sahakarita Vol. 13 | Our Newsletter

Sahakarita Volume 13 explores how informal women workers are responding to climate change through collective enterprise, local knowledge, and cooperation. Drawing from the experiences of women farmers, artisans, and grassroots leaders, the publication examines how climate risks are reshaping livelihoods and how women-led collectives are building resilience through adaptation, innovation, and mutual support.

The newsletter brings together stories from the field, research insights, policy reflections, and voices of women workers who are confronting rising temperatures, changing agricultural conditions, and growing livelihood uncertainties. It highlights SEWA Cooperative Federation’s efforts to integrate climate thinking into enterprise development, leadership building, and institutional support systems, while documenting emerging practices such as agroecology, workspace adaptation, and climate-responsive planning.

Rooted in Elaben Bhatt’s philosophy of Anubandh—the interconnectedness between people, livelihoods, and nature—this edition reflects on the role of collective enterprises in creating more resilient local economies. It invites readers to see climate action not as a separate agenda, but as an integral part of strengthening women’s livelihoods, leadership, and economic self-reliance.
