Women Cooperatives: Building a Resilient and Equitable Future captures the key insights and recommendations emerging from the National Conference of Women Cooperatives held in VAMNICOM, Pune in June 2025.
Drawing on the experiences of grassroots women leaders, cooperative practitioners, researchers, and policymakers, the policy brief outlines a roadmap for strengthening women-led cooperatives through improved access to finance, long-term incubation support, leadership development, market linkages, cooperative education, digitalisation, and climate resilience.
It calls for greater recognition of women’s contributions to the cooperative economy and highlights the need for enabling ecosystems that support women-owned enterprises to grow, innovate, and lead. At its core, the brief positions women’s cooperatives as vital institutions for building more inclusive, resilient, and equitable local economies.
